T20 World Cup 2024 winner Virat Kohli is currently enjoying some family time in London, taking a break from cricket. He is expected to return to action when India faces Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series starting from August 2nd. Rohit Sharma will lead the national team in this series.

Prior to the ODIs, India and Sri Lanka will compete in a three-match T20I series, with Suryakumar Yadav likely to captain the team. Both Kohli and Rohit retired from T20Is following the World Cup held in USA and West Indies.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to announce the India squad for the Sri Lanka tour today, on Thursday, June 18th.
The ODI and T20I squads for Sri Lanka tour will be finalised post a selection meeting, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
Reports suggest that Suryakumar Yadav will lead Team India in IND vs SL T20I series, while Hardik Pandya will participate only in the T20Is and not in ODIs. The star all-rounder has reportedly requested a break from IND vs SL ODI series due to personal reasons.
