After racking up 376 in the first innings, thanks to R Ashwin’s hundred and Ravindra Jadeja’s fifty, India made Bangladeshi batters’ life hard by bowling the team out for just 149. In India’s second batting innings on Day 2, a hilarious moment unfolded when Virat Kohli took a lighthearted jab at star Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan by name-dropping Lasith Malinga.
A funny exchange between Virat Kohli and Shakib Al Hasan went viral on social media during Day 2 of the IND vs BAN Test at Chepauk. In their second batting innings, India faced early blows as both their openers were gone with India being at the score of 28-2 when Kohli came out to bat.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto brought Shakib into the attack almost immediately after Kohli arrived at the crease. To everyone's surprise, including Kohli's, Shakib opted for a series of yorkers. The unexpected tactic led to a light-hearted exchange between the two former captains, with Kohli playfully comparing Shakib to Malinga.
For the unversed, Lasith Malinga played for Sri Lanka and was renowned for firing in accurate yorkers.
"Tu Malinga bana hua hai, Yorker pe Yorker de raha hai (You have become Malinga, bowling yorker after yorker)," Kohli can be heard while talking to Shakib as the audio was captured on the stump-mic on the non-striker’s end.

Virat Kohli Fails To Score Big Against Bangladesh
After getting out on the score of just six runs in the first innings, Kohli’s stay at the crease in the second innings was also cut short as he got out on the score of 17. He looked in good touch with the bat but was dismissed by Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz after facing 37 balls.
