Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto brought Shakib into the attack almost immediately after Kohli arrived at the crease. To everyone's surprise, including Kohli's, Shakib opted for a series of yorkers. The unexpected tactic led to a light-hearted exchange between the two former captains, with Kohli playfully comparing Shakib to Malinga.

For the unversed, Lasith Malinga played for Sri Lanka and was renowned for firing in accurate yorkers.

"Tu Malinga bana hua hai, Yorker pe Yorker de raha hai (You have become Malinga, bowling yorker after yorker)," Kohli can be heard while talking to Shakib as the audio was captured on the stump-mic on the non-striker’s end.
