SL Vs AUS: Sri Lanka have announced a strong squad for the two-match ODI series vs Australia on Monday, as the 'Lankan Lions' are looking to bounce back from the humiliating 2-0 Test series whitewash defeat at home against the reigning World Test champions.

Sri Lanka handed India an ODI series whitewash defeat in 2024, thereby, marking their first bilateral ODI series win over their neighbours in 27 years. The historic feat was followed by series wins over West Indies and New Zealand at home, but recently lost the ODI series to Kiwis away.
Both the ODI's will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, on February 12 & 14, and Australia will be keen to make much-needed preparations, as the side eye yet another ICC Champions Trophy triumph.
The last time Australia won the ICC Champions Trophy was way back in 2009, and ever since, the side have shockingly endured forgettable runs in the 2013 & 2017 editions.
In the past 4 years, Australia have managed to win the T20 World Cup (2021), World Test Chapionship (2023), and ODI World Cup (2023). Therefore, if the side manages to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, they will complete the entire grand-slam of ICC trophies within 4 years.
A series of injuries loom over their head, and it will be interesting to see whether Australia manage to maintain their dominance in the mega event or not.
