'Ban MRF Bats': Social Media Reacts As Akash Deep Uses Bat Gifted By Virat Kohli & Gets Run Out In IND vs NZ 3rd Test

Akash Deep got run out using the bat gifted by Virat Kohli who had earlier gotten run out in the innings.

Akash Deep is gradually rising in stature as one of India's new ball bowlers. In the second India vs New Zealand Test match at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Pune, Akash Deep was trusted over Mohammed Siraj with the latter struggling with form especially in home Test matches. In the ongoing third Test too, Akash provided the hosts the early breakthrough and was the bowler to get the first wicket in each of the two innings.

Not quite known for his batting though, Akash had a strange moment on the field during Day 2 of the IND vs NZ 3rd Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While he had come out to bat with a different bat, he signalled to the dressing room that he wanted the piece of willow that Virat Kohli had gifted him. However, soon after taking Kohli's bat, the right-arm pacer got run out.

Social media has been flooded with reactions ever since Akash Deep got run out with fans suggesting that MRF bats should be banned as it resulted two run outs for India. Notably, Kohli had got run out for the first time in a home Test match earlier in the innings.
