PSL 2023: Shaheen Afridi Consoles Babar Azam After Lahore Qalandars Knock Out Peshawar Zalmi, Video Goes Viral
PSL 2023: Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam were captains of competing teams in Eliminator 2.
Although sports is becoming more and more result oriented to live-up to the demands of a fast-paced life, in essence sports is about how one plays the game, the values of sportsman spirit and trying to build a more inclusive society. A video from the Pakistan Super League that has now gone viral on social media is a great ambassador for these values.
While Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam were in the opposite dugouts in the PSL 2023 match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi with the speedster representing Lahore and the batter leading the Peshawar side, as soon as the match was over, the two skippers were seen enjoying each other's company. In fact, Shaheen was seen putting an arm around Babar's shoulder as if to console the latter post Lahore's win over Peshawar that mean an end of the road for Zalmi in this season.

Talking about the match, Peshawar Zalmi had posted 171/5 in their 20 overs riding on Mohammad Haris 85 off 54 and captain Babar's 42 off 36 deliveries. However, in response, Lahore reached their target with 7 balls to spare. Mirza Tahir Baig scored 54 off 42 while Sam Billings, Sikandar Raza and captain Afridi all chipped in with useful contributions to seal a place for themselves in the final.
Earlier, Zaman Khan was the pick of the bowlers for the winning team as he scalped 2 wickets for 20 runs. Rashid Khan had also picked a couple of wickets but conceded 42 runs with Shaheen being the other wicket-taker.
Azmatullah Omarzai (2 for 30) -led Peshawar bowling attack tried hard but it wasn't enough for them to head into the finals.
