Background
India's tour of Bangladesh started with a three-match series. While India failed to perform as per expectation and lost two close games before Ishan Kishan's double hundred blew away Bangladesh in the final ODI, all eyes are now on the 2-match Test series. The series opener is being played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The Indian team set a huge 513-run target to win, and the Bangla Tigers started off well with Zakir Hassan amassing a fine hundred on debut helping Bangladesh put 200 on the fourth day of the opening Test on Saturday. Hassan was batting with Mushfiqur Rahim when he reached the landmark. Ashwin then got rid of him and picked up his first wicket of the match.
Earlier, India declared their second innings at 258 for 2 with Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara getting centuries. In the first innings, India scored 404 runs and they bowled out Bangladesh for 150 runs. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball as he scalped 5 for 40.

Taijul Islam has been the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh so far on an opening day and Khaled Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have also chipped in with a wicket each. Meanwhile, India, playing without regular captain Rohit Sharma, are being led by KL Rahul who opened the innings along with Shubman Gill but the duo failed to provide India with the start they would liked. Virat Kohli also walked back after scoring just 1.
However, each of Pujara and Iyer have now scored half-centuries and are trying to get India to a solid first innings total. Will Bangladesh get their foot back into the game or will the visitors find themselves in a position of dominance?
