The common man will have to shell out more on goods and services from 18 July onwards because of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) rate hike that was announced after the recommendations were considered in the two-day 47th GST Council meeting in Chandigarh last month. The cost of household items, hotels, and bank services, among others, will become costlier from July 18 as the GST rate was hiked for numerous items. Also, eminent economist and public policy commentator Akash Jindal joins today's show to give his take on the revised rate.
