Mohd. Amir to cut down on Test appearances to prolong international career

Rumors had floated last year that Amir was considering giving up Tests altogether, rumors which he denied.

Amir said that he is looking forward to the World Cup next year and his preparations have been working out pretty well.

Amir also asserted on the fact that with so much cricket around, team needs to follow a rotation policy so that everyone is fresh and fully fit for the country.

Amir also revealed that he and Pakistan's head coach, Mickey Arthur, came to an agreement which will see Amir's workload being managed in the future.

In a recent interview to website Cricinfo Amir admitted to having lost precious time due to the ban and wants to extend his playing days by shortening his Test career.

The left-arm pacer also played a crucial role in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy triumph against India in 2017.

Amir was 18 when he was banned from playing international cricket. Amir till then had played 14 Tests for Pakistan. Since his comeback in early 2016, the speedster has represented his country in 16 Tests.

Amir was banned for five of years for his part in the infamous Lord's spot-fixing saga in 2010.

25-year-old Amir, who made his debut for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in 2004 has represented his country in 30 Tests till now.
