Urmila Matondkar Files For Divorce, Who Is Her Husband Mohsin Akhtar Mir?

After eight years of marriage, actor Urmila Matondkar has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir.

Urmila and Mohsin exchanged vows in a small ceremony on February 4, 2016.

A source told Hindustan Times, "After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms".

Mohsin, a model and businessman from Kashmir, met Urmila at the designer Manish Malhotra's niece’s wedding in 2014.

Urmila and Mohsin visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar and later held their Nikah.

Mir, who moved to Mumbai from Kashmir at 21, had aspirations of making it in Bollywood.

He made his debut in It's A Man's World (2009) and went on to feature in Luck By Chance (2009), Mumbai Mast Kallander (2011), and B.A. Pass (2012).

Mir decided to use his business skills and is now reportedly working with Manish Malhotra's fashion label.

In fact, Manish Malhotra was one of the few public figures who attended their intimate wedding when the couple tied the knot in 2016.

Meanwhile, Urmila Matondkar is best known for her roles in Bollywood hits like Rangeela (1995) and Satya (1998).

Urmila began her political career in 2019 with the Indian National Congress and later joined Shiv Sena in 2020.
