The recent high-level engagement between the Indian government and the Taliban has shown the spotlight on a critical aspect of the bilateral relationship between India and Afghanistan — like the previous governments in Kabul, even the Taliban understands and is supportive of the strategic Chabahar Port project for boosting trade ties with New Delhi and beyond. In an unprecedented move since the Taliban takeover of Kabul in August 2021, India went for megaphone diplomacy with the banned
