New Delhi: While on the one hand vaccination drive against Covid-19 is witnessing increasing numbers in the country, on the other hand, health workers are still finding themselves in deep water to convince people to take vaccines.
The vaccine hesitancy has made people fear so much that in two separate viral videos that have been circulating recently, a man climbed up the tree to avoid being inoculated while another was seen shouting and quarreling with the health workers.
The first video is from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh where a man, hesitant to take the Covid-19 vaccine climbed up a tree. After the Block Development Officer’s team convinced the man he got down and took the vaccine.
"A man climbed a tree as he didn't want to take the vaccine, but agreed to take the jab after he was convinced by our team,” said Atul Dubey, Block Development Officer, Reoti.

In another video, a boatman from the same district could be seen running away from the health workers who had reached to inoculate the people in a village.
The boatman in order to avoid taking the vaccine could be seen pushing away the health worker and also trying to drag him into the river while shouting that he would not take the vaccine and that his health was fine.

“He was apprehensive initially but was convinced eventually to take the vaccine. In another instance, a man climbed a tree but took the vaccine eventually,” said Dubey.
