After waking up the next morning, the 41-year-old developed "uneasiness" and started vomiting.

In a rare incident a 41-year-old man in Maharashtra's Nagpur died after taking two Viagra pills while consuming alcohol. The man died of a cerebrovascular haemorrhage, which is when oxygen delivery to the brain is reduced, according to news.au.com that cited a study published in the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine.

According to the report, the man was staying at a hotel with a female friend, and the duo were drinking together where he downed two 50mg tablets of sildenafil, sold under the brand name Viagra. The unidentified man had no significant past medical and surgical history.

After waking up the next morning, the 41-year-old developed "uneasiness" and started vomiting. Concerned about his health the female friend asked him to seek medical help but he refused telling her he had experienced the symptoms previously as well.

The man's condition deteriorated after which he was rushed to a  hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the hospital.

An autopsy ruled that the mixture of alcohol and the medication, as well as pre-existing high blood pressure, led to his death. His blood alcohol level was 0.186 – almost four times Australia’s legal driving limit of 0.05, according to news.au.com report.

Doctors found 300g mass of clotted blood in post-mortem scans and reached to a conclusion that a mixture of alcohol and medication, as well as pre-existing high-blood pressure was the reason for is death.

"A 41-year-old male with no significant past medical and surgical history was staying at a hotel room with a female friend; he had consumed 2 tablets of sildenafil (50 mg each) and alcohol at night. The next morning, he developed uneasiness following which he was taken to the Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival," read the study published in the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine.
