Monkey Attends Funeral Of 'Human Companion', Witnesses Last Rites At 'Ghat'. Video Surfaces

In the clip, the monkey can be seen sitting besides Ram Kunwar's body, refusing to leave as the family prepares for the last rites.

A heart-wrenching video of a monkey attending the last rites of his caretaker has gone viral on the internet. The monkey that developed a special bond with Ram Kunwar, a farmer in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh stayed next to the person's dead body till the rituals did not end. It also accompanied the family in the hearse van to the cremation ground.

Sahred on X, formerly Twitter, by @RanaYashwant1 the caption of the video when loosely translated in English reads, "What could be a greater example of selfless love than this. A person used to feed this monkey every day. This monkey cried bitterly on the death of that person and was involved in all the rituals from home to ghat. This video is believed to be from Didoli Joya town police station of Amroha." 

In the clip, the monkey can be seen sitting besides Ram Kunwar's body, refusing to leave as the family prepares for the last rites. It can also be seen travelling on top of the hearse van to the cremation ground. At the 'ghat' too it is seen moving around the deceased mans body, and refusing to go away.

A few months ago, Ram Kunwar was having food at his farm near his house in Joya region in Amroha district when the monkey visited the place. Kunwar, shared a portion of his food with the monkey after which it became a habit and both developed a strong bond for each other.

The 62-year-old farmer is reported to have died of a heart attack.
