Vietnam Man Suspicious Over 'Too Pretty' Daughter Left Shocked After DNA Test
The man confronted his wife with the DNA result, which confirmed he wasn't the biological father. She denied his claim of infidelity.
After noticing that his daughter didn’t resemble him or his wife, a man in Vietnam decided to conduct a DNA test, which confirmed he was not her biological father. According to a South China Morning Post (SCMP) report, the family initially had moved to Ho Chi Minh City, when the daughter identified as Lan was just a three-year-old. But as she grew into a teenager, the man became increasingly suspicious that Lan wasn’t their daughter because the child was ‘too beautiful’.
He suspected that his wife, Hong, had cheated on him.
One day he decided to get a DNA test, which confirmed that Lan was not his biological daughter. Following this he grew cold and distant towards his wife and daughter and started drinking excessively. He confronted Hong with the DNA result, but she repeatedly denied his claim of infidelity. Hong had enough of her husband’s behaviour and moved to the northern capital city Hanoi.
Lan changed schools, and unexpectedly this, revealed the truth after she made a friend at her new school. The two girls shared the same birthday and were born in the same hospital. Hong noticed a stark resemblance between her younger self and Lan’s new friend during a joint birthday party that was organised for the two girls.
According to the SCMP report, at the request of the girl’s family, Hong agreed to a DNA test which confirmed that she was the biological mother.
It was confirmed that the two girls had been switched at birth, likely due to a mix-up at the hospital. The two families spend time together and have agreed to tell the girls the truth when the time is right.
However, it is unclear whether they will take legal action against the hospital, as per the report.
Reacting to this, netizens have made several comments, one of which read, “The medical staff made a ridiculous mistake. Fortunately, the truth finally came out. Otherwise, even jumping into the Yellow River could not clear the wife’s name”, the report said.
Another person added, “It tells us that if it is not necessary, do not randomly test DNA, as it can just cause yourself unnecessary trouble.”
