Turkiye Earthquake: NDRF, Turkish Army Rescue 8-Year-Old Trapped In Rubble — WATCH

The child was found underneath rubble in the Nurdagi town of Gaziantep province on Friday. NDRF personnel rescued a 6-year-old girl from the same area on Thursday.

New Delhi: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Turkish Army rescued an 8-year-old girl who was stuck under rubble from a collapsed building in earthquake-hit Turkiye in the Nurdagi town of Gaziantep province, on Friday.

In a video shared by ANI, the personnel could be seen pulling the child out of the rubble and placing her on a stretcher to rush her to a medical facility. 

"Hard work & motivation pays; NDRF team in co-ordination with Turkish Army successfully rescued another live victim (Girl aged 8Yrs) @1545hrs at Loc:Bahceli Evler Mahallesi, Nurdagi, Gaziantep, Turkiye," the NDRF tweeted. They also shared images of the ongoing rescue operations in Turkiye.

NDRF personnel had rescued a 6-year-old girl from the same area on Thursday. The rescue operation has been ongoing since February 7 by the NDRF in the affected areas, during which the personnel retrieved at least 8 dead bodies from underneath the debris till now.

"NDRF rescuers have also retrieved 08 dead bodies from the debris till now. The rescue operation is continuing since 7th Feb by NDRF in the affected areas. The rescue operation and logistics involved are being monitored closely by the DG NDRF in Delhi," NDRF said in a release.

Meanwhile, the Indian army has set up a field hospital in Hatay, Turkiye to provide assistance since it started functioning on Thursday.

"The army field hospital in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkiye has started functioning with running Medical, Surgical & Emergency Wards; X-Ray Lab & Medical Store," External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted on Thursday.
