Reham Khan reveals Imran wanted her to enjoy being a politician's wife and not talk about corruption

Launching new attacks on her former husband, Reham a former BBC journalist, has said that Khan had limited her to just being a politician’s wife.

New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan has made yet another revelation about how living with Imran Khan was for her during the time they were married. Leveling fresh charges on her former husband, Reham a former BBC journalist, has said that Khan had limited her to being just a politician’s wife. She said that Imran wanted her to just be a politician’s wife who would just enjoy the privilege of being that. He would not allow her to broach up the topics of corruption happening around and would expect her to compliment him for being a great leader, she recently said. "He wanted me not to share information I had as a journalist of what was happening in the province where he was in power. He wanted me to enjoy the luxury life he is so used to. I could not do that. People would bring me evidence of corruption and complaints wherever I went but Imran would first ignore them, then fly into a rage about it,” she was quoted as saying by Firstpost. She said that she had grown quite attached to Khan and that is why despite differences in principles, it was difficult for her. She said it was impossible for her to overlook his lack of interest in governing. She alleged that he wanted a smiling wife who would happily travel with him to luxury hotels, in private jets or enjoy living quietly in his sprawling residence. “With time, I saw through him and as I confronted him over the rampant corruption and a 180-degree turn in the ideology of the PTI, our relationship went rapidly downhill. A wife was not needed anymore and I was used as a sacrificial goat instead,” she added while speaking to the portal.
