WATCH | Digital Billboard Of Ram Mandir Beams At New York's Times Square To Celebrate Mega Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya after a gap of 28 years to lay the foundation stone of controversial Ram Mandir.

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Ram Temple in Ayodhya earlier in the day, a digital billboard of Lord Ram and the temple beamed New York's Times Square. Prominent community leader and President of the American India Public Affairs Committee Jagdish Sewhani had earlier said that arrangements were being made to celebrate the historic moment in New York on August 5.  ALSO READ | 'Ram Belongs To All,' Says PM Modi In Historic Groundbreaking Ceremony Of Ram Mandir Sewhani had told new agency PTI that among the prominent billboard has been leased for the occasion are the giant Nasdaq screen and the 17,000-square-foot wrap-around LED display screen, considered among the largest continuous exterior displays in the world and the highest-resolution exterior LED screen in Times Square. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE: Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ayodhya after a gap of 28 years to lay the foundation stone of controversial Ram Mandir.  Starting his speech with Jai Siya Ram chant, PM Modi said the entire country today is in the trance of Lord Ram. He said that a grand temple will now be built for Ram Lalla deity who had been living under a tent for many years. "Every heart is illuminated; it is an emotional moment for the entire country... A long wait ends today," said the Prime Minister. He added that given the raging pandemic, a "maryada" has been kept in mind during the "Bhumi Pujan". Earlier, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat also said that the invitation could not be extended to many considering the Coronavirus outbreak. He also planted a Parijat sapling, considered a divine plant, ahead of foundation stone-laying. As per tradition, he offered prayers at Hanuman Garhi Temple before proceeding to Ram Janmabhoomi site. After the ceremony, CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the nation and said that 'PM Narendra Modi's foresight wisdom paved way for peaceful resolution of Ram temple issue.'
