Queen Elizabeth II Funeral Proceedings: Here's How To Watch State Funeral Live — All You Need To Know

The state funeral of the longest living British monarch, Elizabeth II, who passed away at her home in Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8 at the age of 96, will take place at Westminster Abbey on September 19. On Wednesday, members of the Royal family participated in a procession in which the coffin was moved from the palace to Westminster Hall, where the queen will lie in state until a few hours before her funeral.

Today is the first of the four full days during which members of the public will be able to pay their respects. Mourners will get to offer their respects in the 11th-Century building, the oldest part of the Palace of Westminster and the heart of the British government, reported Telegraph.

Time Of Funeral

The late Queen's funeral proceeding is due to start at 11 am on September 19 (Monday), confirmed Buckingham Palace. The public will also be invited to pay their respects on the streets of London and Windsor as the late Queen’s coffin is moved in a procession ahead of her funeral.

Bank Holiday On Day Of funeral?

The King on September 10 approved that the day of the late Queen's funeral would be a bank holiday and schools will remain closed. 

How To Watch Funeral Procession

The public lying-in-state of the late Queen will end at 6.30 am on September 19th before a state funeral at Westminster Abbey at 11 am. The coffin will be taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey. From there, the queen will be moved to Windsor Castle to her final resting place in St George’s Chapel, where she will be buried alongside her beloved parents, sister Princess Margaret and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Following the funeral, the coffin will travel in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, from where it will travel to Windsor. The state hearse will then take the coffin along the Long Walk to St George's Chapel in Windsor Chapel, where a committal service will take place.

The event is private and only to be attended by the guest. However, the funeral will be telecast by television channels. The TV viewing arrangements for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II have been announced, according to the news portal of Independent.

The event will be televised on BBC One and BBC News, and streamed on BBC iPlayer, with coverage starting at 8 am BST. ITV will run live, uninterrupted coverage of the Queen’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey on the day of the funeral. Broadcasting will begin from 6 am BST, with all five channels and ITV Hub being simulcast at the same time.
