Israel-Palestine, Red Sea Conflicts Feature In PM Modi's Meet With UAE Prez: Foreign Secretary Kwatra
The Foreign Secretary said that in the meeting held between PM Modi and the UAE President, the situation between Israel and Palestine and in the Red Sea was discussed.
PM Modi UAE Visit: Amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Wednesday underscored Abu Dhabi's importance for the world, including India. He said that the UAE is an important source of wider energy security across the world. Kwatra also stated that PM Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the Israel-Palestine conflict as well as the situation in the Red Sea.
"As I mentioned to you in my opening remarks, the developments in this region, have been a very important element of discussions between the two leaders (PM Modi and President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan), not just yesterday, but even in their previous meetings. This is a region which is an important source of wider energy security all across the world, including for India. There are important stakes involved whenever any disturbance takes place. So, yes, the discussions did feature the Israel-Palestine and the situation in the Red Sea did focus on the discussions between the two leaders," Kwatra said.

Speaking further on PM Modi's ongoing visit, the Foreign Secretary said that after the Prime Minister arrived in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, he was received by the UAE President and was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the airport.
"The Prime Minister arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday in the afternoon on what is his 7th visit to this country. He was received by the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and also accorded a ceremonial welcome at the airport. The leaders held detailed delegation level and one-to-one talks which covered the entire gamut of bilateral engagement between India and the UAE as well as the significant developments, regionally and globally. They also witnessed a transaction made using the Jeevan card and the Prime Minister congratulated the President with regard to the launch of UAE's domestic Jeevan card, which is another significant step in financial sector cooperation between India and the UAE...There were 10 MoU agreements that were signed," Kwatra said.
