Biden Raises Wall Around US Capitol A Day Before His Union Address

Far-right senator Marjorie Taylor Greene lashed out Biden administration for drawing up the fence around US Capitol while the US President gave his State Of Union Address.

The US Capitol was secured with fencing as President Joe Biden gave his State of Union Address on Thursday (local time) lashing out at his "predecessor" Donald Trump. As Biden gave his last Union Address of US Presidential polls, slated to take part later this year, a sign reading “Police line. Do not cross” was visible on the perimeter, as per a report by Independent.

The security measure, which was taken for the fourth time for a State of the Union speech, came in the aftermath of the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6 2021.

Far-right Congresswoman, Marjorie Taylor Greene hit out at Biden administration for such a move. "The State of the Union summed up in one picture," she said in a post on X.

"The Biden admin will erect a fence around the Capital in the dark of night but absolutely refuses to build a wall and seal our border to defend innocent Americans like Laken Riley," she said.

"The Biden admin will erect a fence around the Capital in the dark of night but absolutely refuses to build a wall and seal our border to defend innocent Americans like Laken Riley," the Republican leader added.

"Any attempt to tie America’s border security to funding foreign wars and aid will be met with extreme contempt by the American people and rightfully so," she warned.

In his State of Union Address, Biden touched upon a range of topics from Russia's invasion of Ukraine to US economy and war in Gaza. He lambasted Trump and backed IVF treatments in Alabama and the abortion rights.
