New Delhi: In the first inter-Korean summit taking place at the Peace House at the Demilitarised Zone of the Korean border, leaders of the two nations, Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in , discussed prospects of peace in the region. Handshakes, friendly jokes and smiles, marked the first round of the inter-Korean Summit. The South put up a splendid show in welcoming Kim Jong, the first ever North Korean leader to cross border to visit South, leaving him deeply impressed. The summit has created hopes in the common people about a possibility of unification of the countries. Several small flags are put up along the path covered by Moon Jae-in to receive Kim Jong Un. The words "One Corea Now" (One Korea Now) are written on the flags. The flags also have a unified map of the two countries, which were once a single nation. It was in 1948, that the North and the South were divided. Division was followed by a three-year-long war - the Korean war (1950-1953). Since then the countries have shared hostile relations. The peace-talks being held has however raised hopes of a re-unification of the divided region.
