Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday tested positive for Coronavirus, country's Health Minister Dr Faisal Sultan informed. The Pakistan premier tested positive for the deadly contagion a day after he was vaccinated.
In a tweet, Sultan said that the former cricketer-turned-politician has quarantined himself at home.
As per reports, Khan, 67, got inoculated with Chinese Covid-19 vaccine Sinopharm as a part of Pakistan's nationwide anti-coronavirus vaccination campaign which is underway in its first phase.
The country, earlier this week, received half a million doses of Coronavirus vaccines donated by China. The vaccination drive in Pakistan is currently underway for senior citizens.
Khan received the first shot of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine against Covid-19 on Thursday, just days after President Arif Alvi was administered the jab.

Pakistan's Covid-19 vaccination drive also know as National Covid Immunization Program kicked-off in February 2021 shortly after receiving the Chinese government-donated Sinopharm vaccines.
On Wednesday, the second batch of the vaccines arrived in the country. Amid an ongoing third wave of the pandemic, Pakistan has so far registered over 6 lakh positive cases of coronavirus with over 13,000 deaths.
