Khan is accused of not disclosing information on gifts presented to Toshakhana as well as the proceeds from the “illegal” sale of some of the gifts, the news agency PTI reported.

On Tuesday, Khan was given a prison sentence of 10 years in a case related to leaking state secrets. Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, was on remand throughout the trial.

The couple married in 2018, months before Khan was elected prime minister of Pakistan.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf reacts to the sentence to Imran Khan

Imran Khan's party, Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaaf (PTI), called the Wednesday verdict a conviction by a kangaroo court. The party callled the sentence politically motivated and said Khan was aware of the "London Plan" and had warned the nation as well.

Former Pakistan Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra took to the microblogging website X and said that the system is not hurting Imran Khan, but itself.
