'History’s Greatest Comeback': World Leaders Congratulate Donald Trump On 2nd Term In White House

World leaders and top officials started reacting to Donald Trump's victory in the US Presidential election early Wednesday.

World leaders are reacting to the triumph of Donald Trump over Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election. As the news of Trump securing the majority was confirmed, wishes started pouring in for the business mogul. Trump secured his second term in the White House by crossing the 270-electoral vote mark, according to Fox News projections.

Congratulating Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called his return to the White House as "history’s greatest comeback".

"Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America," the official handle of the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel wrote on X.

"This is a huge victory!  In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu," it added.
French President Emmanuel Macron posted on X: “Ready to work together as we were able to do during four years. With your convictions and mine. In respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, also congratulations President-elect Trump on his "historic election victory."

"I look forward to working with you in the years ahead. Congratulations President-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.  As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.  From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come," he said in a message posted on X.

Later in the day, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated Donald Trump on his historic win in a statement, which read: "We respect the American people’s choice and offer our congratulations to Mr. Trump for his election." However, President Xi Jinping has not yet publicly commented on the election results.

Russia also stated that President Vladimir Putin has no plans of congratulating Trump and that Kremlin will judge Trump by his actions.

El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele also wished Trump on his victory and shared a photograph of himself meeting with the former US President on X. "Congratulations to the President-Elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump," he wrote.

Former Australian Prime Ministers Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison also congratulated the 47th President-elect of the United States. Morrison shared a photograph of him meeting Trump and wrote, "Congratulations President Trump."

Meanwhile, hailed Trump's 'self-belief' and 'leadership' and wrote on X: "Congratulations to President Trump on his return to the leadership of the free world. Self belief is what the West needs right now and Trump has that in spades."

Former Russian President and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also reacted to Trump's victor and wrote on Telegram that the US President-elect "has one quality that is useful for us: as a businessman to the core, he mortally dislikes spending money on various hangers-on" and "idiotic allies," suggesting his election may curb the American aid to Ukraine.

"The question is how much will Trump be forced to give for the war...He is stubborn, but the system is stronger." " Medvedev added.
