'France Is With You In This Struggle': Prez Emmanuel Macron Expresses Solidarity With India Amid Covid Surge

New Delhi: While India is battling a second wave of coronavirus pandemic, French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday extended support and committed that France is ready to provide assistance to India in dealing with the situation.
Earlier French President Emmanuel Macron took to Facebook to express his solidarity over the prevailing Covid situation in India.

"I want to send a message of solidarity to the Indian people, facing a resurgence of COVID-19 cases. France is with you in this struggle, which spares no-one. We stand ready to provide our support," Macron wrote.
The message was posted on Twitter by French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain.

The country recorded a one-day tally of 3,32,730 new coronavirus cases along with 2,263 deaths and 1,93,279 discharges in the last 24 hours, according to official data released on Friday.
With this, the Total caseload increased to 1,62,63,695, while Total recoveries are 1,36,48,159, Death toll is 1,86,920; and Active cases are 24,28,616.
Total 13,54,78,420 people have been vaccinated in the country.
