New Video Of Delta Air Lines Plane Crash Shows How Aircraft Flipped On Runway And Burst Into Fire

A Delta Air Lines flight crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport, injuring at least 80 people. Videos circulating on social media show the plane flipping over and catching fire.

A purported video of the moment of the Toronto plane crash has emerged that shows the Delta Air Lines flight hit the runway and flip, before bursting into fire. At least 80 people were injured in the crash. The Delta Air Lines flight was carrying 80 passengers, including four crew members. It crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, flipping upside down upon impact.

The aircraft, operated by Endeavor Air, had departed from Minneapolis, USA, and was attempting to land in Toronto just hours after a severe snowstorm had swept through the region.

Dramatic Video Captures Delta Flight Crash

Footage circulating on social media shows the aircraft making a rough landing on a snow-covered runway before flipping over and catching fire. Thick black smoke can be seen billowing from the plane within seconds. Passengers were later seen escaping from the overturned CRJ-900 aircraft, shielding themselves from strong winds and blowing snow.

Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, dousing the aircraft with water while passengers were still being evacuated.

The authenticity of the videos above could not independently confirmed by ABP Live.

Emergency Response At Toronto's Pearson Airport

Authorities confirmed that all injured passengers, including a child, were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance or helicopter. "The incident did not involve any other aircraft. Emergency crews acted heroically, reaching the site within minutes and swiftly evacuating passengers," said Deborah Flint, CEO of the Toronto Airport Authority. Some passengers have already been reunited with their families, she added.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Impact On Flight Operations

Following the incident, Toronto Pearson International Airport suspended all flights for two hours. While operations have since resumed, officials warned of potential delays throughout the day.

Delta Air Lines Statement

In a statement, Delta Air Lines acknowledged that the CRJ-900 aircraft was involved in a single-aircraft accident. The airline assured that its priority remains the well-being of those affected.

"Delta has activated its Passenger Inquiry Center for family and loved ones seeking information. In Canada, they can call 1-866-629-4775, while in the US, they may reach out via 1-800-997-5454," the statement read.

As a precaution, Delta cancelled all its remaining flights to and from Toronto for the day. The airline urged affected travellers to check the Fly Delta app for updates on their flight status.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian expressed his concern over the incident, stating, "The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto Pearson International Airport."

Severe Weather Conditions In Toronto

The crash landing came a day after a powerful snowstorm battered eastern Canada. Although the snowfall had stopped, strong winds and freezing temperatures persisted in Toronto on Monday. "We are expecting a busy day in our terminals with over 130,000 travellers on board around 1,000 flights," airport authorities had warned earlier in the day, as airlines worked to accommodate passengers affected by previous flight cancellations.
