Ram Vilas Paswan death news: Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswam, a towering socialist icon and an eminent politician, who passed away on Thursday night, will be accorded state funeral, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.  As a mark of respect to him the National Flag will be flown at half-mast on Friday in Delhi and Capitals of all States and UTs where it is regularly flown, and also on the day of the funeral at the place where the funeral will take place. After this, his moral remains will be taken to Patna at 2 pm, and will be kept in the Lok Janshakti Party office. His followers will be able to pay tribute to him there. He will be cremated in Patna on Saturday morning. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder Ram Vilas Paswan passed away at the age of 74 on Wednesday. His Son Chirag Paswan broke the news on his Twitter handle. Paswan recently underwent heart surgery in Delhi. He has served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in central government. Born in Khagaria in Bihar in 1946, Paswan was elected to Lok Sabha eight times and was currently a Rajya Sabha member. In his political career spanning four decades, Paswan donned the hat of a kingmaker several times.
