Envoys Of 6 Nations Present Credentials To President Murmu At Rashtrapati Bhavan

The president accepted credentials from the Ambassadors/ High Commissioners of Switzerland, Jordan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Myanmar and Egypt.

Envoys of six countries presented credentials to President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. The president accepted credentials from the Ambassadors/ High Commissioners of Switzerland, Jordan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Myanmar and Egypt.

Those who presented President Murmu included the Ambassador of Switzerland, Maya Tissafi, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Yousef Mustafa Ali Abdel Ghani, the High Commissioner of Papua New Guinea, Vincent Sumale, the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, Prof Anil Sooklal, Ambassador of the Republic of Union of Myanmar, Zaw Oo and Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Kamel Zayed Kamel Galal. 

Receiving credentials from a new ambassador is an important official ceremony for a nation's head of state, both in terms of formality and substance. This ceremony signifies that this new ambassador is the representative of their nation. 

Sharing a post on X, the Rashtrapati Bhavan wrote, "President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from Mrs Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland; Mr Yousef Mustafa Ali Abdel Ghani, Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Mr Vincent Sumale, High Commissioner of Papua New Guinea; and H.E. Prof Anil Sooklal, High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, at Rashtrapati Bhavan."

In another post, the Rashtrapati Bhavan wrote, "President Droupadi Murmu received credentials from H.E. Mr Zaw Oo, Ambassador of the Republic of Union of Myanmar; and Mr Kamel Zayed Kamel Galal, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at Rashtrapati Bhavan."

Earlier on September 6, envoys of five nations presented credentials to President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Solomon Islands High Commissioner to India, Anthony Makabo, and Nauru's High Commissioner to India, Kane Amandus, Italy's Ambassador to India, Antonio Enrico Bartoli, Iceland's Ambassador to India, Benedikt Hoskuldsson, and Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, presented credentials to President Murmu.
