Maharashtra Dy CM Fadnavis Orders Detailed Probe After Cyrus Mistry Dies In Road Accident
Police said the accident occurred around 3.15 pm when Cyrus Mistry was going to Mumbai from Ahmedabad in a Mercedes car along with three others. One more occupant died in the accident.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the home department, has ordered the state police to conduct a detailed investigation into the road accident in which former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry lost his life on Sunday. Taking to Twitter, Fadnavis said he was shocked and deeply pained to know about the death of Mistry, 54, in the unfortunate accident near Palghar on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.
"Spoke to DGP and instructed for detailed investigations," he posted in the tweet, in which he also expressed his "deepest condolences" to Mistry's family, friends and colleagues.

Former Tata Group chairman and industrialist Cyrus Mistry was travelling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in a Mercedes car that met with an accident in Palghar near Mumbai on Sunday. He had been taken to hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Three other persons were in the car.
According to an ABP Majha report, the three were Jahangir Pandole, Anahita Pandole, who was driving the car, and Darius Pandole.
Jahangir Pandole also died in the accident, while an injured Anahita and Darius have been admitted to a private hospital in Vapi, Gujarat, for treatment.

Police have said the accident occurred around 3.15 pm. Mistry's body has been shifted to the Kasa Rural Hospital for postmortem.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his condolences and said Mistry's passing away is a big loss to the world of commerce and industry.
"The untimely demise of Shri Cyrus Mistry is shocking. He was a promising business leader who believed in India’s economic prowess. His passing away is a big loss to the world of commerce and industry. Condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace," PM Modi tweeted paying condolences to his family and friends.
Meanwhile, social media was flooded with messages of tributes to Mistry's family and friends. Top political leaders and celebrities condoled the business tycoon's death.
