On her demise, political personalities are extending condolences. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to express his sorrow. “I consider it my honour that I have always received immense affection from Lata Didi. My interactions with her will remain unforgettable. I grieve with my fellow Indians on the passing away of Lata Didi. Spoke to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti.,” Modi wrote on Twitter.

The information was shared by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari via Twitter. Gadkari wrote, “The country's pride and music world's Shirmor Swar Kokila Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji's demise is very sad. My heartfelt tribute to the holy soul. His passing is an irreparable loss to the country. She was always an inspiration to all the music seekers.”

After the confirmation, President Venkaiah Naidu expressed his condolences on Twitter with her picture and wrote, “I am extremely saddened by the demise of Lata Mangeshkar Ji, the Nightingale of Indian Cinema and legendary singer. India has lost its voice in the death of Lata ji, who has enthralled music lovers in India & across the globe with her mellifluous & sublime voice for many decades.”
