Lata Mangeshkar Passes Away: Received Immense Affection From Lata Didi, PM Modi Mourns Death Of Legendary Singer

Lata Mangeshkar Death: After the news of her demise was confirmed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, it sent shockwaves in all the spectrums of society as wishes started pouring in from all around.

New Delhi: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, hailed as 'Nightingale of Bollywood' by many, passed away on Sunday morning in Mumbai. As per the latest reports, she breathed her last at 8.12 am and was hospitalised for over 28 days in Breach Candy hospital. The reason for her death is being reported due to multiple organ failures.

After the news of her demise was confirmed by Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari, it sent shockwaves in all the spectrums of society as wishes started pouring in from all around. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief on passing away of the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, recipient at 92.

"I consider it my honour that I have always received immense affection from Lata Didi. My interactions with her will remain unforgettable. I grieve with my fellow Indians on the passing away of Lata Didi. Spoke to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

Two days of national mourning has been declared on the passing away of Lata Mangeshkar and the national flag will be hoisted at half mast as a sign of respect to the deaprted.
