BJP National Executive Meeting: India Has Become Self-Reliant Due To Its Economic Policies, Dharmendra Pradhan Says

The education minister further stated that during the pandemic the government ensured that nobody remained hungry and distributed food grains.

New Delhi: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said that India's economy, which was at the 10th spot in 2014, has now risen to the 5th spot, adding that the nation has become self-reliant due to its economic policy. The education minister further stated that during the pandemic the government ensured that nobody remained hungry and distributed food grains.

Addressing the BJP National Executive Meet, Pradhan said, "We sent Covid vaccines to foreign nations. In 2014, India's economy was in the 10th spot, now it has come to the 5th spot. During the Covid pandemic, we made sure that nobody should remain hungry & distributed grains."

"Direct Benefit transfers worth Rs 22.6 lakh crores were given to beneficiaries. India has been strengthened & became self-reliant due to our economic policy," he added.

BJP is holding a two-day national executive meeting in the national capital on January 16-17, to discuss political and economic resolutions. 

On the first day, a 9-point resolution list was presented by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju during the meeting yesterday which included opposition using 'unacceptable' language for Prime Minister Narendra Modi while running a negative campaign against him and the party.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Opposition continuously ran negative campaigns against BJP & used abusive language to attack PM on many issues like Pegasus, Rafael deal, Enforcement Directorate money laundering, Central Vista, Economic bases-reservations, Demonetization."

Party president J P Nadda specifically asked his leaders to gear up to win all the nine assembly elections coming up this year as it is the prelude to the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad while quoting Nadda's address said, "He exhorted the party to be ready with full commitment to see that the BJP wins all nine states this year as a prelude to 2024. We should not lose a single state. The party workers have to tighten the belt and the party should not be defeated.”

The executive meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and the party's national president J P Nadda.
