IndiGo, Air India Open Ticket Booking After Govt Announces Resumption Of Domestic Flights

Several other domestic flyers are expected to open booking for flights, as ministry of civil aviation announced resumption of all domestic flights.

New Delhi: A day after the Airport Authority of India (AAI) announced fresh SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for airports and passengers to be followed while undertaking the domestic flights, IndiGo airlines announced opening of booking for tickets to 51 cities. Meanwhile, Air India has also tweeted and said that booking of domestic flights will start from 12.30 pm today. Several other flyers are expected to follow the suit from today. Air India tweeted: "#FlyAI : We have started bookings for domestic flights. #FlyTheNewNormal" IndiGo is accepting bookings from May 25, the day the resumption of domestic flights will begin. “As per government directive we will resume operations of some domestic flights from May 25. We are currently open for bookings for travel from 1st June and are in process of opening the same for travel between May 25th and May 31st,” an alert at IndiGo’s website read. List of routes and station chart has been provided to all airlines by the Director General of Civil Aviation. The airlines will have to decide upon the route they have to start air travel to & from, and when to open booking for them. A total of 8 airlines including Air India, Air Asia, Alliance Air, Go Air, IndiGo, Spice Jet, True Jet, Vistara, have been allotted routes. From May 25, domestic flights will be opened across country, the ministry of civil aviation has said.
