President Droupadi Murmu Embarks On 3-Day Visit To Tamil Nadu From Today

President of India Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to stay at Raj Bhavan in Ooty on November 27 and will engage in key activities during her visit, including interactions with defence personnel.

President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived in Coimbatore on Wednesday marking the start of her three-day official visit to Tamil Nadu from November 27 to November 30. She traveled to Coimbatore aboard a special flight from Delhi and will continue her journey to the Nilgiris by road due to inclement weather, replacing her originally scheduled helicopter travel via the Indian Air Force.

The Tamil Nadu police and administrative teams had earlier prepared alternative travel plans between Coimbatore and the Nilgiris, anticipating adverse weather conditions. The President is scheduled to stay at Raj Bhavan in Ooty on November 27 and will engage in key activities during her visit, including interactions with defence personnel and members of tribal communities.

Her itinerary includes a return trip to Coimbatore before traveling to Tiruchi and proceeding to Tiruvarur. The convocation at the university's Neelakudi campus is scheduled to take place between 3:10 PM and 4:20 PM.

With over 1,500 police personnel deployed, extensive security arrangements have been made for the President’s visit. Inspector General of Police (West Zone) T. Senthilkumar is overseeing the security operations, reported IANS. Additionally, Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru and Superintendent of Police N.S. Nisha are directly supervising arrangements in the Nilgiris district.
