Tata Steel Plant Fire: Explosion In Jamshedpur Coke Plant Causes Blaze, Three Injured

The Coke plant caught fire as a result of the explosion.

New Delhi: An explosion occurred at Tata Steel's Jamshedpur factory on Saturday morning, injuring three employees, news agency ANI reported.

The Coke plant caught fire as a result of the explosion.

However, several firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.

Taking to Twitter, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, "The district administration, in coordination with the Tata Steel management, is taking action for speedy treatment of the injured."

The ambulance and fire trucks were on the scene right away, and the area was sealed off. The problem has now been stabilised.

Three of the contract workers were sent to hospitals for treatment after suffering minor injuries.

"Three contract employees sustained minor injuries and were administered first aid. While two of them have been discharged post first aid, one is currently under medical observation. There has been no impact on production," Tata Steel informed ANI.

Earlier, a minor explosion with fire spatters occurred at the hot metal pooling pit near Slag Road gate of the renowned steel firm Tata Steel's Jamshedpur facilities on January 18, 2021, injuring two workers.

In November 2013, an explosion inside the Tata Steel facility in Jamshedpur injured at least 11 people, two of whom were badly injured. The explosion occurred in the LD gas holder, which resulted in a fire in the adjacent gas pipelines.
