ABP-CNX Opinion Poll, WB Election: Mamata Still Most Preferred CM; Fuel Price Hike May Dent BJP

ABP News CNX West Bengal Election Survey: Elections for the 294-seat West Bengal Assembly polls will be held in eight phases from March 27 to April 29. Counting of votes will take place on May 2.

ABP News CNX West Bengal Election Survey: With days left for the much-crucial West Bengal Assembly Elections, ABP News along with CNX conducted a survey to gauge the mood of voters. In the survey, various questions related to important issues were asked and electorates were given options to chose which political party is responsible for what.

Readers must note that the respondents, while taking the survey, shared a candid opinion and the overall result is just an imitation of their perception.

As per the survey, 44 per cent feel that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is responsible for increase prices of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders. However, 40 per cent votes said that its Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) due to which prices have surged.

The survey also said that 56 per cent people feel that rising price of petrol and diesel will dent BJP in Bengal.

When asked if contesting election from Nandigram will help Mamata Banerjee, 45 per cent voters responded in yes, while 38 per cent said that it will not prove beneficial for the West Bengal Chief Minsiter.

When asked about whether giving ticket to TMC turncoats will help the BJP, 56 per cent respondents said no, while 25 per cent felt otherwise. This question asked only from BJP supporters.

To the question of whether actor Mithun Chakraborthy's presence in PM Modi's rally in West Bengal will be beneficial, 53 per cent respondents said no, while 25 per cent said yes.

The survey also highlighted the fact that 71 per cent voters in West Bengal feel that local leaders will get more preference compared to star candidates in the upcoming assembly polls. 13 per cent, however, preferred voting for star candidates.

When asked whether riots in West Bengal increase if BJP comes to power, 49 per cent responded in yes, while 41 per cent said otherwise.

Last but not the least, Mamata Banerjee still remains to be the most preferred Chief Minister choice. The ABP-CNX reveals that 39 per cent people want TMC supremo to return as CM. BJP's Dilip Ghosh stands second in the race with 22 per cent respondents wanting him to be next CM.

Other candidates such as Shuvendu Adhikari, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Mukul Roy stand far behind Mamata Banerjee.
