UPDATE: Paytm Available Again At Google Play Store After Hours Of Removal; Users Relieved
Paytm App is once again available for download on Google Play Store after hours of removal over reported policy violations concerning gambling.
New Delhi: Several hours after Paytm was removed from Google Play Store over reported policy violations, the app is finally available for download on the platform once again. Paytm's main app was taken down, however, other apps like Paytm for Business, Paytm Money, and a few more were intact for Google Play.
Acknowledging the issue, the company had stated, "Paytm Android app is temporarily unavailable on Google's Play Store for new downloads or updates. It will be back very soon. All your money is completely safe, and you can continue to enjoy your Paytm app as normal".

The digital payment service took to Twitter once again to share the update.Clarifying the reason behind the issue, Founder of Paytm Vijay Shekhar Sharma wrote, "We launched a UPI CashBack campaign this morning. Our app got suspended by Google for this. India, you decide if giving cashback is gambling".Update: And we're back! ????

Earlier, the reported reason was Google's new policy guidelines that have banned apps that fall under the categories of stalkerware, misrepresentation and gambling. The companies in question get a grace period of a minimum 15 days to comply with the changes. In a blog today, Google’s Suzanne Frey, Vice President, Product, Android Security, and Privacy stated, “We don’t allow online casinos or support any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting.
