Hac KP 2020: Ethical Hackers Across Country To Compete At The Biggest Hackathon By Kerala Police Cyberdome

The Kerala police department is highlighting the issue of increasing cybercrimes and the need for transforming policing in its upcoming summit and the biggest hackathon competition ‘Hac'KP 2020’ to be held on August 15.

Thiruvananthapuram: The pandemic has changed the whole world especially the way people communicates. Although most of us are screen addicts, the pandemic literally left us only with digital mediums of communication forcing us to be constantly online for even daily work. This has led to an increase in cybercrime with rise in incidents of phishing and privacy breaches, the latest one being the massive bitcoin Twitter hack. Check It Out Here The Kerala police department is highlighting these issues and the need for transforming policing to address such contemporary problems in its upcoming summit and the biggest hackathon competition ‘Hac'KP 2020’ on August 15.  The event is organised by the innovative Cyberdome, the technological research and development centre set up by the Kerala police department to deal with cybercrime. “Now with the present covid pandemic, the world has gone online, and everything is being down through digital means. So we invite software engineer, designers from around the globe to partner and register so that we can build new ideas, new innovations to get better services,” said Manoj Abraham, IPS, ADGP Headquarters and Nodal officers Cyberdrome in promotional video for the event. Hac KP 2020: Ethical Hackers Across Country To Compete At The Biggest Hackathon By Kerala Police Cyberdome The registration for the Hackathon which began in 7th July is now over and the competition will start from August 13. The results will be declared on August 15 were winning team stand a chance to win prizes worth 5 lakh, 2.5 lakh, and 1 lakh. "It is a great opportunity for developers, innovaters and programmers ethical hackers to show their talent in making programme and solutions which will be making the world a safer place," said Loknath Behera IPS, DGP and state Police Chief Kerala in a promo. The conference will see participation from big names from the cybersecurity industry such as Jim Manico, Volunteer and a Former Global Board Member  of Open Web Application Security Project( OWASP).  You can catch the livestream on their Youtube channel- DomeHacKP Kerala's initiative Cyberdome to deal with cybersecurity has received accolades. The security body that works based on public-private partnership model is a recipient of several national and international awards including INTERPOL Special Award for Outstanding Leadership in Protecting Children, Digital Transformation Award 2019.
