Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Kerala Congress Leaders Hold Strategy Meet With Top Brass
Congress leader Venugopal said, "Last time, we, the UDF, won 19 of the 20 Lok Sabha seats, this time the Kerala leaders have assured AICC that UDF will win 20 out of 20."
The Congress leaders held a strategy meeting with party leaders from Kerala in order to discuss the preparations for Lok Sabha elections 2024 in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting along with CLP leader, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs from Kerala.
After the meeting, Kharge said as per PTI, "The strategy meeting of Kerala Congress leaders in Delhi, began with a silent prayer remembering former chief minister, late Shri Oommen Chandy and former governor and minister (Kerala government), late Shri Vakkom Purushothaman."
In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Kharge said that Kerala blessed Congress with 19 of the total 20 MPs in the state. He said that they are extremely positive that the people of the progressive state will once again give a resounding mandate to the Congress party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal said that they had a fruitful and successful discussion on the coming Parliament election related to the Kerala state. He stated that this is the 15th state-level gathering to discuss parliamentary election preparations.
"Last time, we, the UDF, won 19 of the 20 Lok Sabha seats, this time the Kerala leaders have assured AICC that UDF will win 20 out of 20. This was the assurance given by the leadership of Kerala. Entire Kerala leadership will kickstart the Parliament election campaign without any delay," Venugopal said, as per the report.
Venugopal stated that the people of Kerala are extremely frustrated with the condition in which the country exists at present. Manipur, in particular, has been on fire over the past 100 days. There isn't a single sentence from the prime minister to settle the matter. The Prime Minister has yet addressed the Parliament on the matter.
