Kerala, TN CMs Pinarayi Vijayan And Stalin Condemn Attacks On Students From Kerala At Amarkantak IGNTU In MP

The university while responding to Kerala CM Vijayan denied that the students were discriminated against on the basis of their region

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin condemned the attacks on Kerala students at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) in Madhya Pradesh's Amarkantak. However, the university while responding to Kerala CM Vijayan denied that the students were discriminated against on the basis of their region.

Taking to Twitter, CM Vijayan wrote, "Attacks on Keralite students at IGNTU are appalling and highlight the need to resist the growing hostility towards individuals based on their identities in our country. The university must take prompt action against the culprits & ensure the safety of all the students on campus."

Responding to Kerala CM's tweet, Amarkantak IGNTU said, "This information is misleading that students are discriminated against on the basis of the region they come from. The vice-chancellor is the guardian of the entire university, where students from all over the country come to study."

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin also expressed his view by saying that he condemn the outrageous attack on students from Kerala at IGNTU. "I condemn the outrageous attack on students from Kerala at #IGNTU by security staff whose very duty is to protect the students. I appeal to the Union Govt to intervene and stop the growing tendency of discrimination and attack against students in Higher Education Institutions."

The Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan wrote to Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking intervention in the incident of the beating of Malayali students by security personnel at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University in Madhya Pradesh.
