Karnataka: Engineering Student From Kerala Kills Self In Bengaluru College

Bannerghatta police who have taken up an investigation stated that Nitin was depressed since he was away from his parents.

Bengaluru: An engineering student from Kerala died by suicide at a college in Anekal town of Bengaluru on Thursday. The student was found dead by fellow students in the restroom of the college.

According to ANI, Bannerghatta police said, "Karnataka | An engineering student Nitin (19) allegedly died by suicide after slitting his throat inside a toilet of AMC Engineering College's hostel.”

“Nitin who is a resident of Kerala joined the college on Dec 1 this month," they said.

Nitin, a student of AMC Engineering College in Bannerghatta locality of Bengaluru, hailed from Koyalandi village near Padini Zaria region in Kozhikode district of Kerala. The deceased’s victim reside in Dubai and he was admitted to the college in CES course by his brother.

The police said, Nitin joined college on December 1. On Thursday, when the students were away he killed himself in the toilet of the college.

The police also collected statements of his roommate and friends in the college. The students have told police that Nitin was calling his parents and quarrelled with them that they should come down to see him.

Bannerghatta police who have taken up investigation stated that Nitin was in a depressed mood from being away from his parents. After joining college, he made repeated calls to his parents, as per IANS.

Further investigation is underway.
