3 Students From Kerala Assaulted At Mangaluru Beach In 'Moral Policing' Incident, Accused Arrested

Three youths from Kerala were assaulted while they were in the company of girls of a different faith at Someshwar beach in Karnataka's Mangaluru. The three paramedical students from the neighbouring state were injured in the attack on Thursday evening. They were visiting the beach with three girls who were also their college mates, police said, as per news agency PTI. The gang allegedly attacked the boy students after they were found in the company of girls from another religion, police added.
According to Mangaluru Police Commissioner, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered under the IPC section for rioting and 307 (attempt to murder).

"Four adult accused arrested and a minor accused apprehended. The arrested accused have been identified as Yatish, Sachin, Suhen, and Akhil. A few more suspects are to be arrested. Three teams are working on it," Mangaluru Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain told news agency ANI.

The arrested persons are being questioned.
At Someshwar beach in Karnataka's Mangaluru, six people came and asked for the victims' names and details and then beat them up. Victims were admitted to a hospital.
"Today, around 7.20 pm, a group of six friends asked for the details of the male students and then beat up the three boys at Someshwar beach," an officer said, as per ANI.
