Karnataka Lockdown: Taking a note of continuous spike in cases of Coronavirus in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday announced to impose strict restrictions in order to control the spread of the deadly virus. Terming it a "close down", the chief minister said "Strict measures to control COVID will be taken. From tomorrow night till the next 14 days, there will be a close down for the whole state."

During this period, essential services will be allowed between 6-10 am. After 10 am shops will close. Only construction, manufacturing and agriculture sectors allowed. Public transport to remain shut. Inter/intra-state travel will not be allowed. Only emergency cases will be exempted.
The chief minister appealed the vendors, shopkeepers to close right after so the police don't have to force. "From April 27 evening, stringer measures will be in place. Request vendors, shopkeepers to close right after so the police don't have to compel," CM said. The separate guidelines will be issued by the government later in the day.
Moreover, in government hospitals, vaccination will be free for people between 10-45 years. For those above 45 years, Union Government will provide vaccination free, the Chief Minister added.
The decision on complete lockdown came after few members of the Technical Advisory Committee in a meeting on April 24, recommended the state government to impose a two-week-long down.
