Swap ministers-journalists post, as latter are speaking like former: Congress
New Delhi [India], Sept 2 (ANI): Criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the recent cabinet reshuffling, the Congress party said that the Government should make its ministers journalists and appoint journalists as ministers as the journalists are speaking like ministers.
Calling the swapping of Minister-Journalists post as the "best reshuffle," Congress leader Sandeep Dixit said that the Government wasn't able to do anything in these three years and nothing new is to be expected out of the newly appointed ones.
"If there's some hard work going in, one would even think about it, but it is absolute silence from this government," Sandeep Dixit told ANI.
Speaking on the same, senior Congress leader Tom Vadakkan said that the cabinet reshuffle is an "admission of failure" here.
"You have the skills development minister being sacked, you have the railway portfolio being removed, you have the water ways minister being removed, this is not a reshuffle this is an emergency situation which has emerged out of incompetence and that is an admission of a total failure of this government," Vadakkan told ANI.
He also said that the nation is facing an economic disaster which is self-created by decisions taken without consultation with the entire cabinet.
"Even for the demonetisation decision it is said that the finance minister was privy to it, while there are various other decision which even the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was not aware of," Congress leader Vadakkan said.
Vadakkan also stated that the Government is facing consequences of its own decision and this is "change of narrative to cover up their failures."
Ahead of the reshuffle in the union council of ministers, as many as six ministers- including Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Kalraj Mishra and Mahendra Pandey- have reportedly tendered their resignation to the party at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah.
Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu might face the heat of the cabinet reshuffle due to the controversies in their ministries: the farmer protests in Madhya Pradesh and the recent train accidents.
The newcomers in the Cabinet reshuffling is likely to be from the allies Janata Dal (United) and AIADMK.(ANI)
