Suspected ISIS to be brought on transit remand to Lucknow

Lucknow (New Delhi), Nov 5 (ANI): The ISIS suspect arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Mumbai on Sunday will be brought under transit remand in Lucknow.

In a press conference, ADG (LO) Anand Kumar said, "We have arrested a terror suspect Abu Zaid from Mumbai airport. We are bringing him on transit remand to Lucknow from Mumbai."

"Zaid was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and a lookout notice was issued against him. He is the resident of a village in Azamgarh district," added the ADG.

Zaid was the ideologue of four others who were arrested in April.

"In the month of April, UP ATS arrested four people and Zaid was the ideologue of his group. They radicalised people to join ISIS and other Islamic groups via whatsApp group," he informed.

Abu was arrested by ATS DG Anup Singh and airport authorities from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai on his arrival from Riyadh.

Cases under section 120B, 121A, 153, 123, 122 B, IPC and 18 Law Against Prevention of Prevention Act were registered against the four terrorists -- Omar alfaz Nazim, Ghazi Baba alias Mujmimil, Mufti alias Faizan and Zakwan alias Ehtesham in ATS Police Station, Lucknow. (ANI)
