No waiver for farmers for loan debt below Rs 10,000: UP Government

As per new rules farmers with pending loans of more than Rs 10,000 will only get a loan waiver certificate.

The fact that banks were maintaining records of such small amounts and pushing famers to pay attracted a lot of criticism from the general public.

Earlier, many farmers were seeking loan waivers for pending loans of extremely small amounts like 35 paisa and Rs 8.

No certificate shall be allotted to any farmer who has a loan lesser than 10k.

After facing much criticism on social media and otherwise, Uttar Pradesh Government has set new rules for waving off loans of the farmers.
