New UP BJP chief thanks PM Modi, Amit Shah
New Delhi [India], Aug 31 (ANI): The new Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Mahendra Nath Pandey on Thursday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah for giving him an opportunity to serve the people of the state.
"Under Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi the BJP party is doing a good job in UP. I am thankful to BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Modi for giving me this opportunity. I am going to work for the BJP party in UP and will make sure that all the works of Central government reach to each and every person," he told ANI.
BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday appointed Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Pandey as the next UP BJP chief with immediate effect.
Pandey is a BJP MP from Chandauli constituency.
Pandey has replaced Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya who was serving as UP BJP chief.
Maurya also congratulated the new BJP chief.
"The BJP has announced Mahendra Nath Pandey for the party state president of UP. I congratulate him for the next UP BJP chief. I am sure that UP BJP cadre will work good under him. Each and every BJP worker is happy with this decision. Earlier also he has done good work for the party," he told ANI.
The decision to appoint a new chief has come forth as Maurya is expected to be elected to the Legislative Council to continue as Deputy Chief Minister of UP. (ANI)
