NCP dubs Bihar upheaval pre-planned

New Delhi/Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 28 (ANI): The swift developments in Bihar, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's resignation to his swearing-in again within 24 hours, made the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday dub it as pre-planned.

"Resignation of Nitish Kumar and formation of government within two hours clearly indicates that some sort of planning had been done previously. Nitish Kumar had made up his mind to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)," NCP leader Nawab Malik told ANI.

Malik further said that the people within the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) are not satisfied.

"Party people in Delhi, Maharashtra have raised their objection which shows there is a rift within the party," he said.

Echoing similar sentiments, another NCP leader Tariq Anwar said it is a deceit with the people of Bihar.

"The people of Bihar had given a mandate against the BJP, but, now he (Nitish) has formed the government along with the BJP. This is not political honesty," he said.

Yesterday, Nitish and BJP leader Sushil Modi were sworn-in as Bihar Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively.

Bihar witnessed heated political environment soon after Nitish resigned on Wednesday as Bihar Chief Minister to protest against his Deputy and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Supremo Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav's stubbornness to stay in the Cabinet despite being named in FIR over the corruption charges.

However, Tejashwi has put onus on Nitish and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the latest political development in the state.

Tejashwi said that political vendetta against him exposed the Opposition's viciousness.

"I delivered manifolds than what was expected of me. My performance perturbed our ally & BJP. Vendetta against me exposes their viciousness," he tweeted.

Yesterday, the RJD was forced to cancel its protest march to Raj Bhavan to oppose Kumar's swearing-in ceremony due to the probationary orders. (ANI)
