Mumbai: Two killed, one injured in road accident

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 10 (ANI): Two youngsters were killed and one injured in Mumbai's Wadala, when a speeding truck rammed into their bike.

The accident took place at the Bhakti Park on Wednesday evening. The area is near the monorail route of Wadala.

Two boys, identified as Siddhesh Chavan (24), and Siddhesh Mhase (25), were waiting for their friend Vinayak Dhage (23), beside their parked motorcycles when suddenly a speeding truck hit them from the rear.

The collision left Vinayak dead on the spot, while Chavan and Mhase sustained serious injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where Siddhesh Mhase also died during the treatment and Siddhesh Chavan's condition was declared critical.

The family of the deceased Vinayak has blamed the lack of speed breakers along that particular area.

The accused truck driver Mohammad Kaleem Shaikh has been arrested by the police.

Further details are awaited. (ANI)
