Manipur CM appeals people not to panic about Dengue, Swine Flu
Imphal (Manipur) [India] July 30 (ANI): Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh on Sunday appealed people not to panic about Dengue and Swine Flu as the state government is taking all the steps to contain the situation.
Regarding the outbreak report of Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis in Churachandpur District, the Chief Minister said the government is closely monitoring the situation.
He further said, a 15-member medical team including AYUSH doctors has been sent to the district with necessary medicine to contain the outbreak of the diseases.
He also said about 80 persons who are suspected to be infected by the diseases will be picked up from the remote locations and vehicles had already been sent for the purpose.
The Chief Minister also appealed the people not to get panic as only two persons affected by Dengue and one person affected by Swine Flu have died so far and state administer has taken up adequate measures to contain the situation.
He also said fever detector machines will be kept at Behiang in Churachandpur and at the check-posts of Jiribam bordering Assam and Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh of the State as a special measure to check Swine Flu affected people coming into the State.
On Sunday morning, the Chief Minister also visited the site of National Sports University at Koutruk in Imphal and appealed the local people to fully cooperate in the development activities of the National Sports University.
Later, the Chief Minister inspected the construction works of Ibudhou Marjing tourist complex at Heingang Hills in Imphal East district.The components of the complex are a gigantic polo statue a top Heingang Hill, a cafeteria, garden, approach road, parking and Marjing temple, in Manipur. (ANI)
